Fikret Sadikhov "The Constitutional court is a legal body.

Its decisions about recognition of the signed documents as complying
with norms of law are quite a normal event as there have not been any
illegal actions of the undersigned parties", said political scientist
Fikret Sadikhov, commenting on the recognition of the Armenian-Turkish
protocols as complying with the Armenian Constitution by the Armenian
Constitutional Court.

"The legal aspect of these documents is considered here. On the other
hand, the political recognition and ratification by the deputies
of the Armenian parliament must follow this. Ambiguous processes
may start here. Certain events and confrontations may occur in the
parliament. Today the opposition has launched protests to demonstrate
their disagreement with the protocols signed in Zurich.

Thus, I cannot say whether the parliament will ratify these documents
or reject them at once. But the fact that the parliament will have
to hold a serious discussion of these protocols and the fact that
Armenia and the Armenian parliament have many opponents of these
documents are also real. Therefore, I think the first stage related
to the protocols ratification has been passed and the next stage will
be decisive, I think", he said.

He said Moscow and Ankara are also interested in ratification of the
Armenian-Turkish protocols except Armenia.

"Lavrov’s visit to Yerevan and Erdogan’s to Russia are not accidental.

This means that the countries demonstrating themselves as guarantors
of the signed protocols are interested in the ratification of these
documents and they do not hide this. Therefore, I think it is still
early to say whether these protocols will be ratified, but I can
say it for sure that this process will be more complicated in the
parliament than it was in the Constitutional Court", Sadikhov noted.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
