EMERGENCY MINISTRY ELABORATING EMERGENCY PREVENTION STRATEGY

YEREVAN, January 13, /ARKA/. Armenian emergency minister Mher
Shahgeldian said to ARKA that his ministry will unveil a strategy
and a platform, which are designed to help prevent emergencies.
He added that they will be in compliance with international standards.
The ministry is elaborating now the strategy for protection of
settlements from man-made and natural disasters, he said.
In his words, implementation of the strategy would allow to drastically
reduce emergency risks and to effectively coordinate related efforts.
He said international calculations show that from economic efficiency
perspective prevention of emergencies is more effective than response
actions.
