RUSTAMYAN: IF NOTHING CHANGES, CHANGE OF REGIME WOULD REMAIN ON AGENDA

Yerevan (Yerkir) – ARF Supreme Body of Armenia representative Armen
Rustamyan has said that the political forces united against the
Armenian-Turkish protocols have shown some progress, though not
satisfactory.

He told a news conference on January 13 that the authorities have
begun to realize the concerns that have been voiced in the past months.

Speaking of the Constitutional Court ruling on the protocols, Rustamyan
said that that the ARF demanded in its letter to the court to deem the
protocols not conforming to the Armenian Constitution. The court made
an unusual decision, Rustamyan said, that while the protocols are in
line with the constitution, some steps should be taken to bring the
protocols in line with the CC legal acts.

"We expect the following decision: The National Assembly ratifies
the protocols with an observation or an additional declaration,
then after being ratified by the presidents, they are handed down to
Turkey. It will become clear then if Turkey agrees that the subject of
the protocols are only the establishment of relations," Rustamyan said.

He added that in case the process goes on like this, Armenia should
step back from further talks with Turkey.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
