SHAVARSH KOCHARYAN: BAKU STILL POSES A THREAT TO THE REGION

"The events that took place in Baku in response to the demand of the
people of Nagorno Karabakh for self-determination were the recurrent
monstrous manifestation of Azerbaijan’s policy of ethnic cleansing,"
RA Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Koccharyan said, commenting on
the Baku pogroms that took place 20 years ago.

"It caused a forced displacement of about 400,000 Armenians
from Azerbaijan, a large-scale military aggression against the
self-determined Nagorno Karabakh Republic, which resulted in heavy
human and material losses.

The fact that Azerbaijan continues its anti-Armenian hysteria
instead of accepting its guilt and responsibility evidences that
Baku continues posing a threat to its own population and the region,"
Shavarsh Kocharyan said.
