GROWTH OF CARGO TRANSPORTATION IN SCR WAS 3.2% IN 2009

YEREVAN, January 14. /ARKA/. Growth of cargo transportation in
South-Caucasian Railway (SCR) in 2009 was in average 3.2%.

In 2009 cargo transportations by the import made 1 328 366 tons and
export – 345 495 tons. Import mainly consisted of cereals – 467 484
tons, oil products – 363 035 tons and container transportation – 137
733 tons. Export consisted of 117 319 tons, container transportation –
82 062 tons and mineral raw-material – 79 323 tons.

Volume of cargo transportation was increased in the internal railway
making 1 066 317 tons. Internal cargo transportation consisted of
cement/sulphur raw-material – 466 430 tons, mineral construction
material- 200 710 tons, mineral industrial raw-material – 156 837
tons and colored metals – 84 835 tons. Concession management of
"Armenian railway" is implemented by CJSC "South Caucasian Railway"
which is 100% affiliate of Open JSC "Russian Railway". SCR accepted
the railway stock of CJSC

"Armenian railway" on its balance from June 1, 2008 according
to Concession Agreement signed on February 13, 2008. The terms of
concession management is for 30 years with the right of prolongation
for another 10 years.
