Azerbaijani embassy in Russia sends note to Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Baku. Victoria Dementyeva ` APA. Azerbaijani embassy in Russia sent a
note to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs protesting State Duma
Vice Speaker Vladimir Zhirinovsky’s statements, Press Secretary of the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elkhan Polukhov told APA.

The note expresses dissatisfaction with the Zhirinovsky’s thoughts and
says that such statements are not in accordance with the historic
relations and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia. In his
interview with the Latvian press, Zhirinovsky urged Russia to
recognize Nagorno Karabakh’s independence. `If Nagorno Karabakh
declares its independence, Russia should recognize it’.
