My Brother, Jan, Jan, Jan!

MY BROTHER, JAN, JAN, JAN!

I relate to this song with particular respect because lately it is at
the core of our economic, political and moral activity. The feeling
is that alongside with negotiations, conclusion of business deals,
this symbolic song sounds, and only the names of ‘brothers’ and the
quality of ‘jan’ change. For example, judging by recent events, Bradtke
is associated with us by ‘brotherly’ relations. In his last interview
the American co-chair has finally admitted that there is Karabakh
with its authorities and desires. Our brother Bradtke – one ‘jan’.

The fraternal process in the Armenian-Turkish relations faded a
little away. Armenian businessmen are buying offshore land, not
believing in the predictions that the signing of the protocols will be
delayed. The Constitutional Court calls the Armenian-Turkish protocols
corresponding to the Constitution while in Armenia little does not
contradict the Constitution and therefore the Constitutional Court
and the ARF with it – another two flaming ‘jan’ to the strengthening
of the Armenian-Turkish friendship.

Nikol Pashinyan’s election became a powerful blow to the authorities.

The idea is enough absurd at first glance, however, is justified. Even
the beating of journalists, falsification, Nikol Pashinyan’s
personality were unable to make the society to participate in the
electoral game. People do not go to elections because they no longer
want to be fooled, but in this case they did not emit steam.

Unreleased pairs of protest will still break out, but not at rallies
and polling stations. Although it would be easy if we had at least
one elected MP, the illusion of opposition and mitigation monitoring
of PACE.

And the problem was not that the authorities were against such
developments, but the fact that another candidate was ‘a brother’
who could not be hurt, although his deputy’s mandate is of no use to
anyone. It was for this perfect fidelity to the fraternal unity that
ignores not only the public but also the logical interest, Armenian
uncanny fraternity – three times ‘jan’.

Maybe it’s time to proclaim this song the national anthem, if, of
course, we are able to save the state.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
