RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian announced today
that there were numerous exchange visits, political consultations,
meetings and events in 2009, and around 100 international treaties were
signed, which "can provide solid grounds for the future strengthening
of bilateral and multilateral relations."

According to Nalbandian, in the last year, Armenian president Serzh
Sargsyan visited 22 countries, while 8 leaders of other countries
visited Armenia. National Assembly Chair Hovik Abrahamyan visited
8 countries, while two of his counterparts in other countries came
to Armenia.

Moreover, Armenia’s prime minister visited 8 countries last year,
while Nalbandian himself went to 29 countries (as compared 11 of his
counterparts from other countries who came to Yerevan). Also in 2009,
five leaders of international organizations paid a visit to Yerevan.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
