According to Turkish press, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu
made a phone call to his American counterpart Hillary Clinton and
discussed the recent problems in the process of normalization of
relations between Turkey and Armenia.

Constitutional Court of Armenia issued its justified decision about
the ruling over conformity of Turkey-Armenia protocols to Armenian
constitutional law. The justified decision of Armenian Constitutional
Court was on the focus of criticisms of Turkey because of evaluating
the clause in protocols about establishment of a joint committee
of historians by Turkey and Armenia as conflicting with Armenian
constitutional law.

According to the source, on January 23, Davutoglu made a phone call
to Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and expressed his
disappointment in the justified decision of Armenian Constitutional
Court.

On January 24, Davutoglu called U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton
and discussed the recent developments in the process of rapprochement
with Armenia. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was present in
the signing ceremony of Turkish-Armenian protocols in Switzerland.

Davutoglu also stated in a press conference with Foreign Minister
of Jordan that Armenia should keep loyal to the letter and spirit
of protocols. Stating that Turkey introduced protocols directly
after signing them with Armenia, Davutoglu said, "On the other
hand, in Armenia there is a process of analysis of protocols by
Armenian Constitutional Court about conformity of protocols to the
Armenian constitutional law. The influence of the comment of Armenian
Constitutional Court might be questioned but letter and the spirit
of the protocols should be preserved."

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
