EIGHTH SESSION OF ARMENIAN-GEORGIAN INTERGOVERNMENTAL COMMISSION HELD IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, January 27. / ARKA /. Eighth meeting of the Armenian-Georgian
intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation held in Yerevan.

The meeting discussed more than a dozen of issues.

The agenda included issues related to the legal framework, the
delimitation of borders customs cooperation in the areas of transport
and agriculture, energy and culture, health, education, environmental
protection.

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, positively described the
work of working groups of the commission, and said that an agreement
has been reached on several issues.

"I am confident that these issues will facilitate the strengthening
of economic, social and political cooperation, ranging from cultural
and social spheres up to customs issues," Armenian Prime Minister said.

For his part, Prime Minister Nika Gilauri said that both peoples have
traditional brotherly relations. "There are general programs. We have
done a lot together, but still more must be done," he said.

At the same time Gilauri invited the Prime Minister of Armenia to
visit Georgia to continue the discussions and expressed confidence
that the atmosphere following the ninth meeting in Tbilisi will be
equally favourable.
