INTEL AND AMD INTEND TO RELEASE SIX-CORE PROCESSORS

Intel and AMD corporations intend to release six-core processors in
the first half of 2010, Digitimes reports referring to sources from
motherboard makers.
Six-core desktop processors named Gulftown Intel will be launched in
March end. The first will be Core i7-980X costing over U.S. $1000.
AMD will release six-core desktop processors the Phenom II X6 1075T,
1055T and 1035T in May.
These are not first six-core processors produced by Intel or AMD.
Earlier Intel released Xeon processor in September 2008, whereas AMD –
Opteron in the middle of 2009, lenta.ru reports.
