Mkrtich Sapeyan, head of the Aragatsotn Territorial Division of
Yerkrapah Volunteer Union (YKM) was released from the Hospital of for
Convicts penitentiary institution today morning.

Sapeyan was arrested on October 27, 2008 and was charged with
hooliganism (Article 258, RA Criminal Code).

Sapeyan served a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence which he received
for assaulting a pro-government heckler, Sargis karapetyan, during a
campaign rally held in his town of Talin by Levon Ter-Petrosian, the
main opposition candidate in the February 2008 presidential election.

Brothers Mkrtich and Zhora Sapeyans, their nephew Hayk Gevorkian, were
sentenced to different jail terms after the presiding judge found the
prosecution’s case grounded.
Zhora Sapeyan is still in prison cell.
