Turkey apprecaites Russie’s efforts to achieve progress in the
Karabakh settlement

Russian and Turkish Presidents Dmitry Medvedev and Abdullah Gul had a
telephone talk on Saturday on the Turkish side’s initiative, the
Kremlin press service said.
The two leaders discussed Russian-Turkish cooperation in international affairs.
When exchanging views on the situation in the Trans-Caucasian region,
Gul highly appraised Russia’s contribution to the international
efforts to achieve progress in the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement.
The both sides expressed satisfaction with the joint work in the Black
Sea region and discussed European security issues, including in the
light of the Russian initiative to work out a treaty on European
security.
The central event in Russian-Turkish relations in the near future will
be the planned visit by the Russian president to Turkey. The agreement
on the visit planned for next May was confirmed in the talk, the press
service said.
