2010 TO BRING NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR ARMENIA-RUSSIA RELATIONS’ DEEPENING: RA PRESIDENT

February 5, 2010 RA President Serzh Sargsyan received RF First Deputy
Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov.

Sargsyan made a point of the Armenia-Russia relations’ efficiency
in 2009 and emphasized both states registered progress in all fields
having an intensive year start, RA Presidential Press Service informed
NEWS.am.

Shuvalov stressed that bilateral ties develop positively, adding that
the purpose of visit is the discussion of further steps on Russia’s
presidency in CIS in 2010.

"We have already established procedure of our presidency with highly
topical agenda, and RF leadership assigned me to discuss agenda
priorities with Armenian leaders as well as open closer relations
with my counterparts," he outlined.

Serzh Sargsyan expressed confidence that Russia’s chairmanship in
CIS will be positive and effective for further reinforcement and
development of the organization.

The officials also discussed bilateral, multilateral cooperation
issues, as well as Armenia-Russia collaboration in the frames of
different organizations. Along with responding to global crisis
consequences, correspondent activities and efforts will open up
ample opportunities for deepening of bilateral relations, Sargsyan
emphasized.

Shuvalov conveyed Sargsyan RF President Dmitry Medvedev’s invitation to
attend events devoted to the 65th anniversary of the Great Patriotic
War.
