Barcın Yinanc, correspondent of the Referans newspaper (Turkey),
published an article on tension over the RA Constitutional Court/s
verdict between Armenia and Turkey.
The reporter reminds the readers that Ferudin Siniroglu, Advisor to
the Turkish Foreign Office, is to go to Switzerland to present his
country’s concern over the verdict.
The Turkish journalist points out a most interesting fact: denying the
Armenian Genocide is a penal act in Switzerland. Barcın Yinanc’s
version of the Turkish official’s visit is as follows: Ferudin
Siniroglu arrives in Switzerland and asked about the aim of his visit.
He is likely to answer that, according to the RA Constitutional
Court’s verdict, a subcommittee of historians to be formed under the
protocols has no right to discuss the fact of the Armenian Genocide —
this fact is not a topic for discussions for Armenians. The Turkish
side, which holds the opposite opinion, is ready for discussions.
Thousands of Swiss citizens hear Sirinoglu saying that, and a public
prosecutor decides to institute criminal proceedings against him for
denying the Armenian Genocide.
