Turkey attempts to become a major strategic factor in the South
Caucasus and, thus, settle the conflicts it and its strategic partner
Azerbaijan face, the president of "Noravank" scientific-educational
foundation Gagik Harutyunyan told a press conference today. Azerbaijan
seeks merely for the matters of tactics over the Nagorno-Karabakh
settlement, whereas Turkey’s steps are more strategic and far-fetched,
he said. "Today Turkey actively tries to find its place in the world
and has worked out a special strategy and policy," G. Harutyunyan
said. As he said, these have been unified in the idea of new-osmanism,
with the latter aiming at spreading its impact in the region.
