Vafa Guluzade Political scientist Vafa Guluzade has commented on the
decision of the European Parliament urging Turkey to leave Cyprus.
"Europe and the United States took a blackmailing tactics on Turkey,
but it may lead to nowhere. Turkey is a strong self-reliant state,
which can stand for itself. Therefore, the consequences of such
policies may affect Europe and the United States, political
scientist Vafa Guluzade told, commenting on the adoption of the
European Parliament report on Turkey, where the country is said to
be committed to the immediate withdrawal of its troops from Cyprus.
"The European Parliament with the Congress can adopt hundreds of
such reports on Turkey, this can do nothing to Turkey. Meanwhile,
Armenians behave like jackal Tabaki from the well-known tales of
Kipling "Mowgli", thinking that by leaning towards the United States
and Europe they will force Turkey to back down. This will not happen
because Ankara will never yield to this blackmail", said Guluzade.
"I wonder why the European Parliament does not accept the report
for the immediate withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied
Azerbaijani territories, why the guardians of democracy from Brussels
and Washington are calmly watching the human tragedy of the Azerbaijani
refugees? Why were they silent when in 1974 the Greek Cypriots staged
ethnic cleansing of Turks in the island?
So, are all these international laws, resolutions and reports only for
Christians and they do not refer to Muslims? Therefore, there should
be no illusions about support of international organizations to our
just position. Muslim scholars were right when after the collapse
of the Soviet Union they predicted that now, instead of ideological
confrontation between the West and the Soviet Union, there will begin
the confrontation between Islam and Christianity ", he said.
"Turkey will resist all these attacks against the West and probably
will correct their foreign policies, then Europe and the United States
should not be resented because they have brought it to such a state
themselves", said the politician.
As for the Armenians, they are playing a very dirty game, and
unfortunately, the US became a part of this game.
