YEREVAN (Novosti-Armenia), February 10’The educational foundation
`Ayb’ is beginning the registration of Armenian schools for
participation in the international mathematical competition
Mathematical Kangaroo, the press service of the foundation informed.
More than 1200 schools have already received a package that includes
invitations to the competition, the application forms, the detailed
rules of the competition and other necessary information.
The registration rules and the principles of the competition have not
undergone essential changes. A pleasant innovation of this year was
the possibility to translate the tasks of the competition into
Russian. On the day of the competition the participants will decide in
what language they are going to read the tasks.
This year the competition in Armenia will be held on March 18, by the
educational foundation `Ayb’ under the patronage of the Armenian
Ministry of Education and Science. The deadline of the registration of
pupils and schools is February 24.
The general partner of Kangaroo in Armenia is VTB Bank (Armenia).
Five million pupils from more than 50 countries took part in
`Kangaroo’ last year. Russia, France, Germany, Canada, the US,
Romania, Georgia, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan and Spain were among those
countries.
Mathematical Kangaroo was first organized in Paris in 1991, and since
1994 it has been an international competition.
