Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian held a meeting
today with the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Kazakhstan’s Secretary of
State and Foreign Minister, Kanat Saudabayev. The parties discussed
a series of questions that are of bilateral interest.

Nalbandian told journalists after the meeting that they discussed
issues related to further broadening negotiations and strengthening
relations between Armenia and Kazakhstan. Also on the agenda were
international and regional issues including Armenia-Turkey relations.

"Armenia and Kazakhstan are united by long-standing friendly
relations. Both parties are successfully developing negotiations in
such areas as politics, economy and culture. Our countries are members
of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and it’s natural
that the steps we take and policies we pursue over international and
regional issues may coincide or be similar," said Nalbandian.

The RA Foreign Minister recalled that Armenia had supported
Kazakhstan’s candidacy in the OSCE and that today too the sides are
in active negotiation within the OSCE (Organization for Security and
Co-operation in Europe).

"Today, once again, Armenia’s willingness to support Kazakhstan also in
the future was confirmed, so that its delegation can fulfill its plan,
which at its core has such urgent issues as improving the effectiveness
of OSCE’s activities, and guaranteeing security and stability in the
South Caucasus," said the RA Foreign Minister.

Nalbandian also mentioned that he spoke with his counterpart about the
development of dynamics in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict negotiations,
as well as the efforts Armenia is making in the matter.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
