ON FEBRUARY 27 SERGEI PARAJANOV’S FESTIVAL TO BE HELD AT ST YEGHICHE ARMENIAN CHURCH IN LONDON

LONDON, FEBRUARY 16, NOYAN TAPAN – ARMENIANS TODAY. On February 27
Sergei Parajanov’s festival will be held at St Yeghiche Armenian
Church in London. The festival is organised by the Armenian Community
& Church Council of Great Britain in partnership with the British
Film Institute, The National Theatre, Cine Lumiere, Pushkin House,
Arnolfini and the Bristol Gallery.

The visual impact of Sergei Paradjanov’s films is matched by their
evocative soundtracks, which complement the imagery and are inspired
by the sounds of Armenian, Georgian and Ukrainian folk music.

According to , the concert at St Yeghiche church
commemorating the Maestro’s life and work will reveal the distinctive
spirit of Caucasian music, enriched by the visual accompaniment of
Paradjanov’s photographs and films extracts.
