Almaty. February 16. Kazakhstan Today – The President of Kazakhstan,
Nursultan Nazarbayev, has proposed ways of settlement of the

the agency reports citing the interstate broadcasting company Mir.

According to the broadcasting company, the OSCE chairman and the
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Kanat Saudabaev, met the
President of Azerbaijan, I. Aliev, on February 15 during his visit to
Baku and transferred him the offers from the President of Kazakhstan,
N. Nazarbayev on how to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

As informed earlier, K. Saudabaev declared, following the results of
negotiations with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Elmar
Mamedyarov, that Astana, being the OSCE chairman, hopes that 2010 will
become critical for the course of settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict if the parties adhere to their arrangements.

"We use all our possibilities for resolution of the conflict, the
last arrangements in Athens and the meeting of the Presidents of
Azerbaijan and Armenia in Sochi give us optimism," K. Saudabaev said.

"It is my first visit as the OSCE chairman. I thank Azerbaijan for
support to the presidency of Kazakhstan."

According to K. Saudabaev, one of the important goals of the visit –
to see all spectrum of problems of the Nagorno-Karabakh. "It is a
priority for Kazakhstan as the OSCE chairman. The President of the
country, Nursultan Nazarbayev, has an interest in resolving this
conflict. We know the historical background and use all our resources
to resolve the conflict," he underlined.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
