OFFICIAL BEIRUT SUPPORTS BAKU IN KARABAKH ISSUE

Ali Al-Shami Beirut is still loyal to friendly relations with
Azerbaijan.
Beirut supports Baku in the Karabakh issue and respects the territorial
integrity of Azerbaijan within the framework of international law,
said Lebanese FM Ali Huseyn al-Shami.
"Lebanon supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of
Azerbaijan within the framework of the internationally recognized
borders on the basis of norms of international law and according to
UN resolutions", Al-Shami said.
He noted that despite Lebanon abstained from voting at the 63rd
session of the UN General Assembly on the situation in the occupied
Azerbaijani lands, Beirut is still loyal to friendly relations with
Azerbaijan and continues permanent consultations and cooperation with
Baku in different spheres, according to Trend.
"Lebanon officially recognized the Azerbaijani Republic after it
gained independence in 1991 and established diplomatic relations in
1992", the Lebanese FM said "In addition, the countries have signed
a number of agreements in the sphere of economic, trade and customs
cooperation, as well as the contract on air communication".
