ISTANBUL’S PROSECUTOR GENERAL SUES TURKISH DAILY ‘RADIKAL’

Turkish daily Radikal is being sued. The reason? An interview,
published two months ago, with Emine Ayna, a member of the pro-Kurdish
Peace and Democracy party (which replaced the Democratic Society Party,
or DTP).

According to CNN Turk, Istanbul’s Prosecutor General has charged the
daily with "advocating on behalf of a terrorist organization" and is
seeking a two-year sentence for Radikal’s secretary Hasan Cakkalkurt
and journalist Rýfat Baþaran.
