Mahir Shukurov Mahir Shukurov was not selected for Russian team
Anzhi’s friendly against Armenia’s Banants in Turkey yesterday.

Full-back Shukurov, who signed for Anzhi in January, was not even on
the bench for the Banants game.

The coaches may well have decided it was best not to play Shukurov,
because of the complicated relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The friendly ended in a 2:2 draw.
