ArmInfo. By the end of 2010, in the framework of "Every Day Low
Prices," the biggest retailer of Armenia, STAR supermarket chain,
will reduce prices for at least 500 items.
STAR Marketing Director Narine Avetissyan says that for the moment
the chain is offering 200 items at a price that is 10%-15% lower than
the average one on the market.
The action started in Sept 2009 with 120 items: essentials and popular
brands. As a result, the sales have grown by 4-5 times. "The project
has proved to be a success as it best reflects the motto and the
goal of STAR – to be a supermarket for the middle class. During the
action each family will be able to find a commodity that meets its
needs and financial capacities," says Avetissyan.
STAR supermarket chain was launched in 1998 and consists of 13
supermarkets (12 in Yerevan and 1 in Hrazdan). One of the shareholders
of the chain is EBRD (28.3%).
