EVER WIDE IN CIS SOCIAL NETWORK ‘ODNOKLASSNIKI’ PROPAGATES NATIONAL HATRED, DOESN’T IT?

ArmInfo. The social network "Odnoklassniki" propagates national hatred,
doesn’t it? Such a question arises when one sees certain user Niko
Ehmedzade who has posted the picture of the criminal Ramil Safarov
instead of his own avatar. To recall, the Hungarian Court for viciously
murdering the Armenian officer Guirgen Margaryan sentenced Safarov,
the lieutenant of the Azerbaiuani armed forces, to life imprisonment.

Both the officers were on military courses in Budapest. The poster
with the comment "RAMIL SEFEROV. NATSIONALNIY GEROY AZERBAYCANA!!!"

(Ramil Safarov. National Hero of Azerbaijan) is not the only
anti-Armenian picture on the user’s page. He has another picture with
comment "Karabakh is ours." The motives of some sicky Azerbaijani users
are evident, whereas the attitude of the website administration is not
clear enough. Here is the notification well known to all the users of
the social network: "Do not upload photos where your face is not seen,
as well as pictures where children are without parents, pictures with
animals, subjects, paintings, famous people, cartoons, advertising
and links to other websites, erotic photos and photos insulting
other users." The website contains also many other notifications in
details and every picture posted by users is allegedly supervised
by moderators.

The website administration probably does not consider propaganda
of the criminal who murdered a person just for nationality and his
declaration as the national hero "insulting for other users". There
is also another circumstance arousing indignation i.e. the website
does not ban posting of racist, nationalist, fascist nature pictures.

Hence, it does not assume responsibility for the given case.
