Rasim Musabeyov The Azerbaijani political scientist has voiced his
attitude towards the recent events on the front line.
"Obviously, Armenia wants to frustrate the signing of a peace agreement
on the Karabakh conflict under the Madrid principles.
Azerbaijan has almost adopted these principles though it is not
satisfied with most points, while Yerevan is impeding the process
and wants to frustrate them by such provocations on the front line",
said political scientist Rasim Musabeyov commenting on the recent
incident on the front line.
He said Armenia will not attain anything by such provocations,
because it will be forced to adopt these principles in the end.
Answering the question about the reason of summoning the
Azerbaijani-Turkish military session on a high level, the political
scientist noted that this is Baku’s response to Armenia and its
supporters.
"Though for definite reasons Turkey will be unable to assume the
responsibility before Azerbaijan, no one can prevent Ankara from
supplying its arms and specialists for the Azerbaijani army. I do
not rule out that these issues will become major at the upcoming
Azerbaijani-Turkish military session on a high level", the political
scientist said.
As for the visit of US Assistant Secretary of State William Burns in
Baku, the political scientist noted that the meeting participants
will likely discuss the main regional issues but Berns may hit to
Baku to soften its position on the Armenian-Turkish rapprochement.
"But if the United States consider that Baku will disavow this
position, they are deeply mistaken. The resolution of the Karabakh
conflict is most important for us", concluded he.
