BAKU: Armenian Parliament’s Commission Holds Preliminary Discussions

ARMENIAN PARLIAMENT’S COMMISSION HOLDS PRELIMINARY DISCUSSIONS OF PROTOCOLS SIGNED WITH TURKEY

Baku – APA. Preliminary discussions of the protocols signed with
Turkey were hold at the Armenian parliament’s commission for foreign
affairs. Chairman of the commission Armen Rustamyan told that the
protocols would be included in the agenda of the parliament in spite
of the commission’s opinion: "I will offer the speaker to discuss
the protocols at all fractions before our opinion is prepared. We
decided to establish a working group consisting of representatives
from all fractions. This group will present the exact procedure of
discussion of protocols at commission and parliament till February
22. There is a need for discussion of documents at all commissions
and arrangement of common hearing".

Member of "Prospering Armenia" fraction of the commission Ernest
Soghomonyan noted that it would be impossible to discuss the protocols
until Turkey take a step in the direction of ratification: "Let them
begin the discussions, then we will see".

Dashnak’s draft law on Azerbaijan’s responsibility for Nagorno Karabakh
war was adopted at the meeting.

Commission approved the proposed amendment to law on "international
agreements". According to amendment, if any international document is
contrary to the national interests of the country, state or government
may take back the sign from that document.
