US Senators concerned over human rights and freedom of speech in Azerbaijan
US Senator Amy Klobuchar expressed her grave concerns to Azerbaijani
community representatives in the US over Azerbaijani bloggers Emin
Milli and Adnan Hajizade imprisonment, Turan reported.
`The US continues to cooperate with Azerbaijani government and people
over reinforcing democratic reforms, including the limitations of
freedom of speech and holding of mass meetings,’ the letter says.
Senator recalled that earlier Washington had urged Azerbaijani
authorities to ensure bloggers’ legal defense and medical aid.
Virginia Sen. Jim Webb also expressed concerns over human rights and
freedom of speech in Azerbaijan.
