"The Sparapet" (Warlord) book by Colonel Martin Bagdasarian will be
published by March 5, dedicated to Vazgen Sarkisian and timed to his
birthday. It’s worth mentioning, that the book will be distributed
free.
The book sets in Armenia’s Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and around
the time of the Karabakh War. Martin Bagdasarian said at today’s
press conference that he had taken notes on chronics of Karabakh’s
Liberation War of 1991-1994s and used the notes for writing the book.
It was difficult to understand whether Vazgen Sarkisian is a General,
or a soldier, said Martin Bagdasarian.
Historian Armen Karapetian, a book consultant and advisor to author
of "The Sparapet", said: "We were looking for facts everywhere in
Armenia’s regions, throughout all Armenian areas; we’ve met with all
those heroes of Karabakh’s Liberation War; we put up pictures and
other documents for the book."
"The book may become a basis for studying the history of the 1991-94s
war," he added.
"Armenian nation had to pass through numerous wars, and this war is
the most dramatic and heroic one; it showed different one-man heroes;
however, this is the nation’s victory," said Armen Karapetian adding
that after all these hardships it cannot be said of surrendering
the territories.
