YEREVAN, February 23, /ARKA/. The opposition Armenian National Congress
(HAK) has developed its own program of radical social and economic
changes, called ‘100 Steps,’ and will soon unveil it, Levon Zurabian,
a senior HAK representative, told a news conference today.
‘Our program contains concrete solutions, aimed at improving the
economy and securing a shift from oligarchic economic system to normal
market relations,’ he said.
The program is authored by a former prime minister Hrant Bagratian.
According to Levon Zurabian, the program proposes ways to facilitate
the tax burden of small and medium businesses and stimulate exports.
Levon Zurabian said the program is aimed also at preventing Armenia’s
foreign debt growth and transforming all commercial banks into open
joint stock companies.
"This program can be implemented only by a government which is not
a government of cronies, serving the interests of oligarchs’ he said.
