ARTUR BAGHDASARIAN MEETS WITH U.S. DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF STATE AND AMBASSADOR OF RF TO ARMENIA ON FEBRUARY 22

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 22, NOYAN TAPAN. RA National Security Council
Secretary Artur Baghdasarian met with U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary
of State Ann Ganzer on February 22. Issues regarding modernization
of Armenia’s border infrastructures and ensuring border security were
discussed at the meeting.
A. Baghdasarian presented work done to modernize the border
infrastructures and to strengthen border security. Elaboration and
implementation of Armenia’s border security, in line with international
standards, was considered important as a problem included in the
Armenia-NATO Individual Partnership Plan.
According to the RA NSC Press Office, the same day A. Baghdasarian
received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of RF to RA
Vyacheslav Kovalenko.
Issues regarding Armenia-Russia partnership in the security sphere
were discussed at the meeting. Expansion of cooperation between RA
and RF Security Councils, as well as activization of cooperation
within the framework of CSTO was considered as important.
