ARMENIA, ALGERIA INTERESTED IN DEVELOPING BILATERAL RELATIONS

The newly appointed Ambassador of Algeria to Armenia, Smail Shergui
(seat in Moscow), presented the copies of his credentials to Armenian
Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

Congratulating the Ambassador on assuming office, Minister Nalbandian
attached importance to the development of relations with Algeria,
which holds a leading position in the Arab World and Maghreb.

Ambassador Shergui assured he would do his best to promote the
development of bilateral relations.

The interlocutors attached importance to the formation of a necessary
legal field, establishment of economic cooperation and cultural
exchange between the two countries.

Minister Nalbandian and Ambassador Shergui touched upon the cooperation
between Armenia and Algeria within international organizations and
exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of
reciprocal interest.
