Representatives of the Armenian Council of America – Glendale Chapter
met with Glendale Police Chief Ronald DePompa to discuss various
issues concerning the Armenian American community of Glendale.

Goals and objectives of the Department concerning its interaction
with the community were in focus.

DePompa acquainted ACA members with new strategies developed to lower
crime rates through advanced informational technology systems.

"We had the opportunity to talk to the chief and express our concerns
as well as receive insight as to what steps are being taken to address
the issues of the community, and hope this meeting is the beginning
of many edifying engagements the Police Department will have with
the Armenian American community of Glendale," said Peter Darakjian,
ACA board member.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
