Today, in the course of his visit to Kiev for inauguration ceremony
of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, Turkish Foreign Minister
Ahmet Davutoglu met with his Swiss counterpart Micheline Calmy-Rey
and U.S. National security advisor James Jones.
According to Turkish Zaman, the staple of meeting was Iran’s nuke
program and recent developments in the Caucasus.
Immediately after the meeting with Jones, Davutoglu met with
Armenia-Turkey relations’ mediator Micheline Calmy-Rey. The officials
discussed developments connected with Armenia-Turkey Protocols.
Turkish FM expressed concern over the banning of minarets’ construction
in Switzerland and said it is a very sensitive issue for Turkey.
As NEWS.am reported earlier, Davutoglu said that Armenia-Turkey
normalization process in not halted. "This is a complex process,
but it is neither halted, nor reached a stalemate. Same topic was
a water-cooler in July 2009, however the documents were initialed in
August. Like before, the talks and normalization process are underway,"
he stated.
