Delphi Games To Be Held In Armenia

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ On February 24, the first session of the Organizing
Committee on preparation for the 6th juvenile Delphi games. Armen
Gevorkyan, RA Vice Prime Minister, RA Minister of Territorial
Administration, and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, headed
the session.

The games program and organizational documents submitted by Hasmik
Poghosyan, RA Minister of Culture and Deputy Chairman of the Organizing
Committee, were approved during the session.

According to the decision adopted by Heads of CIS
countries-participants, this year, the games to be held in Armenia
from June 26 to July 2.

The aim of the games is to support the creation of a single cultural
area for the CIS countries.

Hasmik Poghosyan emphasized that Armenia has been participating in
the Delphi games since the first juvenile Russian Delphi games in the
city of Saratov, and now the country intends to organize them at the
highest level. A suggestion to dedicate the 6th Delphi games to the
65th anniversary of the victory in World War II was raised. Therefore,
the package of documents was forwarded to the CIS countries.

During the session, the activities to be performed by the Governmental
authorities were clarified; the game emblem with further improvements
was approved. The organizing committee will be holding sessions once
a month.
