ISSUES OF THE ARMENIAN COMMUNITY IN RUSSIA DISCUSSED DURING ABRAHAMYAN-ESAYAN MEETING

Armenian Ambassador to Russia Oleg Esayan and Chairman of the Union
of Armenians in Russia Ara Abrahamyan met on February 18.

Mr. Esayan attached great importance to the role of the Union
in lives of Armenians in Russia and in direction of deepening of
Armenian-Russian cooperation and relations.

"The Union of Armenians in Russia has united the Armenians living in
Russia and helps to preserve the Armenian essence in this country",
the ambassador said.

The same day Oleg Esayan met with the Russian State Duma deputy
Arthur Chilingarov. The latter assured that Esayan would contribute to
deepening of Armenia-Russia relations. He also spoke with gratification
about the Union of Armenians in Russia mentioning of its great
importance to preserving of culture and observing of traditions of
the Armenians living in Russia.
