SERGEY LAVROV: UPPER LARS-KAZBEGI CHECK-POINT MAY BE LAUNCHED STARTING MARCH 1

ArmInfo Russia is ready to open regular air communication with Georgia,
and the Upper Lars-Kazbegi land check-point on the Russian-Georgian
border may be launched starting March 1, said Russian Foreign Minister
Sergey Lavrov in his interview with Russian mass media, particularly,
RIA Novosti, Golos Rossii radio company and Russia Today TV company.
"You know that charter flights were carried over the period of
Orthodox Christmas. This was the request of the Georgian party, and
we considered it would be right to do that. Moreover, we are ready to
open regular air communication as well, and the relevant services of
the two countries could discuss this. I hope the land check-point,
which is brought in proper order by both parties, will be launched
starting March 1",- said Lavrov and added that Russia is ready to
implement the existing agreements.
