ARMENIAN CB: 5,4% RISE OF REAL EFFECTIVE CURRENCY RATE IN DECEMBER 2009

ArmInfo. Real effective currency rate in Armenia raised by 5,4%
to 121,7 in December 2009, as compared to November 2009, monthly
reference guide of Armenia’s Central Bank says.

Fall of the real effective currency rate in December 2009, as compared
to December 2008 made up 18%. To recall, fall of this indicator during
2008 was fixed in February, March, April, June, July and December,
and in Jan-Dec 2009, growth was fixed only in February.

Along with it, the nominal effective rate in December 2009, as
compared to November 2009, raised by 3,7% to 211.7, and as compared
to December 2008 – by 20%. Fall of the nominal effective currency
rate in 2008 was fixed in February, March, April, June and December,
and in Jan-Dec 2009, growth was fixed in February and July.
