ArmInfo. Over the second day of his two-day private visit to Georgia
President Serzh Sargsyan visited the Armenian church of Batumi to
take part in the Sunday divine service, after which he laid flowers
to the cross-stone.
As press-service of the president reported, Serzh Sargsyan had a talk
with representatives of the Armenian community of Adjaria.
By the end of Sargsyan’s visit to Georgia the heads of the two
countries’ states concluded on the results of the visit. Mikheil
Saakashvili was pleased with informal meeting with his Armenian
counterpart in Batumi. ‘We have arranged to integrate our economy,
to have frequent contacts, to make big efforts for rapprochement of
our two nations although they are very close’, – president of Georgia
said and added that in future such meetings will be more intensive. ‘We
are small countries and need each other’, – he said.
For his part, President of Armenia said: ‘We should seriously think
about the integration processes’. Sargsyan is sure that this year
will become critical for the bilateral relations though they were
always good.
