IT products are not sold in Armenia as businessmen have no idea of
information programs’ efficiency or simply do not want to cut shadow
costs, Director of Nork information — analytical center Hayk Chobanyan
told NEWS.am-Innovation. He also added that Armenian IT companies
sell products abroad, as there is no demand in domestic market.
"Shadow business rate in Armenia is very high, but in case of IT
application shadow business will not survive. This might be one of the
reasons for businessmen not to use new technologies," Chobanyan stated.
According to him, Nork center experts try to establish cooperation with
companies of other fields, reasoning that IT is crucial for business
and through new technologies they can cut the expenses dramatically,
but no avail. Companies’ owners simply ignore use of IT.
