Congress should not have taken such a decision-US envoy

James Jeffrey The US ambassador in Turkey has commented on the
adoption of the resolution on `Armenian genocide’ by the Congress.

US ambassador in Turkey James Jeffrey announced that the `Congress
should not have taken this decision’. `I am against this decision and
I do not think it will promote the US-Turkish relations and
Armenian-Turkish normalization process.

The US ambassador in Turkey arrived in the building of the foreign
ministry where he was called due to the adoption of a resolution on
recognition of the so-called `Armenian genocide’ by the committee on
international affairs of the House of Representatives of the US
Congress.
