Won’t Resolution 252 on Armenian Genocide deserve the fate of the
previous resolutions? Resolution 252 adopted by the U.S. House Foreign
Affairs Committee needs to be submitted to the House of
Representatives for a final vote.

"In 2007 we witnessed the failure of a similar resolution which was
disregarded lest it should harm American-Turkish military relations,"
Heritage Faction Chairman Styopa Safaryan said today.

"The US Congress solved a serious issue then by threatening Turkey to
recognize Armenian Genocide. Turkey passed to action and conducted a
policy of denial, apostasy and punishment against Armenia in pursuit
of its interests," he added.

"The U.S. House Committee Foreign Affairs adopted the resolution
simply to sober up Turkey, make the country ratify the Protocols, send
troops to Afghanistan and build a U.S. anti-rocket station in its
territory. Turkey will surely start bargaining over the issues after
it realized the necessity of negotiating with the USA and Israel."

Mr. Safaryan thinks Armenian authorities are of high opinion about
their foreign policy and think Armenia has fully repaid for meeting
the appeals of the USA and international community and demonstrating a
constructive posture.

Stepan Safaryan anticipates that during his speech of April 24 U.S.
President Barack Obama will reread his speech of 2009 and reiterate
that America does not seek to impede Armenian-Turkish reconciliation.
