ArmInfo. Rise of gas tariff in Armenia will increase monthly expenses
of a family of 4 people by 2500 drams (nearly $6,5), Hakob Hakobyan,
parliamentarian from the Republican Party of Armenia, Chairman of the
Parliamentary Commission for Social Affairs, told media on Wednesday.

He said the government is currently studying the possible material
assistance to the population to soften the consequences of the rise of
the gas tariff. "The assistance must be rendered only to the families
that actually need it," H. Hakobyan said. Starting April 1 2010, gas
tariff for private consumers will grow from 96 to 132 drams per 1 cu m
(VAT inclusive) .
