ARFD INITIATIVE ON INTERNATIONAL TREATIES NOT APPROVED BY RA GOVERNMENT

RA Government March 11 session rejected ARFD initiative on proposing
amendments to the International Treaties’ bill.

According to Deputy FM Shavarsh Kocharyan, they offered to insert
3 new provisions allowing for invalidating the agreement before its
coming into force.

In this connection Kocharyan informed that the matter is already
solved by the adopted amendments to the law on International Treaties
on February 25.

Besides, ARFD offered to empower the Parliament to make reservations
to the international treaty and terminate it before its conclusion.

The last one was about stipulating cases allowing applying for
treaties’ termination and inserting reservations.

Deputy FM stressed that under Vienna Convention Armenia is not eligible
for that.
