"Considering that the war can never be hoped for, we at the same time
do not afraid of fighting, if the war begins. However, our absolute
position is to consider a peaceful settlement to the conflict, standing
from the basis of mutual concessions," said Armenia’s President Serzh
Sargsyan in his interview with France’s Le Figaro paper, commenting
the process of settlement to the Karabakh conflict.

"We are making utmost efforts in relation to this issue. Meanwhile,
Azerbaijan is trying to create an illusion that Armenia and
Nagorno-Karabakh are interested in conflict’s solving. Sure, this is
not true.

"We must put an end to the damaging embargo. The situation in
Azerbaijan is different as it hopes can buy weapons and solve the
conflict by military meaning, being backed by the natural recourses
and petrodollars.

"They don’t keep their intentions secret," said President Sargsyan.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
