SERZH SARGSYAN: ARMENIA-POLAND RELATIONS HAVE GREAT POTENTIAL

YEREVAN, MARCH 12, NOYAN TAPAN. The Armenia-Poland relations have
a great potential, and Armenia wants to realize it completely by
deepening cooperation in political, economic, cultural and other
spheres. RA President Serzh Sargsyan stated receiving the delegation
led by Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk which is in Armenia on
a working visit. In his words, "there are two very important grounds
for it: our peoples’ good interrelations and European Union Eastern
Partnership, one of the authors of which is Poland."

D. Tusk also said that the Armenia-Poland relations develop stably,
and Poland is deeply interested in expanding the range of cooperation.

Meanwhile he emphasized that Armenia can constantly expect Poland’s
assistance.

S. Sargsyan considered significant the circumstance that Armenia
and Poland develop on the basis of the same values, which gives a
possibility to find many points of mutually beneficial cooperation. He
also mentioned bilateral active cultural contacts as important factors
for developing relations, spoke about famous Polish cultural figures,
the linking role of the Polish Armenian community. S. Sargsyan also
touched upon the fact of recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the
Seim of Poland in 2005 mentioning that it is also evidence of mutual
understanding and confidence between the two peoples.

According to RA President’s Press Office, thoughts over possible
directions of the Armenian-Polish cooperation, activization of trade
and economic contacts were also exchanged at the meeting. D. Tusk
mentioned that Poland highly assesses RA President’s efforts aimed
at establishing stability and peace in the region.
