Swedish Government considers incorrect the adoption of Armenian
Genocide Resolution by the Parliament. According to it, the resolution
passed by a casting vote-131 against 130 is wrong and politicizes
the history.

The executive branch took effective steps to prevent the recognition
of Armenian genocide by the Parliament, Swedish Government said in
a statement, Turkish Zaman daily reports.

Turkey recalled its Ambassador from Stockholm and cancelled Prime
Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Sweden scheduled on March
17, after the adoption of Armenian Genocide Resolution by Swedish
Parliament.

As NEWS.am reported previously, majority of Swedish parliament voted
in favor of resolution describing the mass killings of Armenians and
other Christian minorities in modern Turkey by the end of World War
I as genocide. A number of conservative MPs voted for the resolution,
which resulted in motion passing by a casting vote-131 against 130.

A week ago U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs adopted Armenian
Genocide Resolution Ankara withdrew Turkish Ambassador Namik Tan to
hold consultations.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
