The OSCE/ODIHR report on the events of March 1-2, 2008, was publicized
late because the experts in charge of those cases had to study massive
materials, said head of OSCE Yerevan Office Sergey Kapinos at a press
conference today.

Kapinos recalled that other than former chief editor of local Armenian
daily Haykakan Zhamanak ("Armenian Times") Nikol Pashinyan’s case,
the last case related to March 1-2 events was closed in July 2009. In
his words, the experts needed time to prepare the report.

Earlier, Armenian National Congress Coordinator Levon Zurabyan had
said that the reason the OSCE report on March 1-2 was presented to
the public late is that the Armenian authorities and OSCE had come
to an agreement.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
