An18th century Armenian church in Tuzhisar, a village located in the
Turkish region of Hafik (Sivas province), will be reconstructed.

According to Turkish news source Hurriyet Daily News and Economic
Review, the proposal to reconstruct the church — presently used as
a store — was an initiative by Zeki Aydın, head of Hafik Regional
Council and member of the ruling Justice and Development Party.

"We have informed the Minister of Culture and Tourism about our wish.

We will do our best to reconstruct the church and turn it into a
tourist spot," said Aydın.

A few weeks ago, Deputy Governor of Van Halil Bers had said that,
according to a project designed by the provincial administration,
two more churches will be reconstructed in Van.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
